Damaris was a woman who believed Paul's message in Athens and joined him.
Damaris was a woman in Athens who became a believer through Paul's preaching on the Areopagus, named alongside Dionysius the Areopagite as one of the few converts from that famous speech (Acts 17:34). Her mention by name alongside a prominent city official suggests she may have been a woman of some social standing. Though Paul's Athens mission produced fewer converts than some of his other endeavors, Damaris and Dionysius formed the nucleus of whatever Christian community took root in the city.
