daughter of Meshullam

The daughter of Meshullam son of Berechiah, unnamed in the biblical text, was married to Jehohanan the son of Tobiah the Ammonite, the opponent of Nehemiah (Nehemiah 6:18). This intermarriage between a Judahite family and the household of Tobiah is noted as part of the explanation for why many in Judah were bound by oath to Tobiah, making Nehemiah's opposition to him politically complicated. She is known only through this brief reference to the marriage alliance.
