Eliab was a Gadite warrior who joined David at Ziklag.
Eliab was a Gadite warrior, one of eleven chief men from the tribe of Gad who crossed the Jordan and joined David at his wilderness stronghold before his accession to the throne (1 Chronicles 12:9). These Gadites are described as 'mighty warriors, fit for battle, armed with shield and spear, whose faces were like the faces of lions and who were swift as gazelles on the mountains' (1 Chronicles 12:8). He is distinct from the more prominent Eliab, David's elder brother (1 Samuel 16:6).
