Ishhod was the son of Hammoleketh, who was the sister of Manasseh.
Ishhod was a son of Hammoleketh, who was the sister of Gilead and therefore a member of the tribe of Manasseh (1 Chronicles 7:18). His brothers Abiezer and Mahlah are also listed in this passage. The name Hammoleketh means 'the queen,' and her children represent a notable branch of the Manassite lineage. Ishhod's presence in the genealogy preserves a record of the family structures within the western half-tribe of Manasseh.
