Timna

Patriarchs (Abraham–Joseph) Edom · H8555
Old Testament

Timna was a concubine of Eliphaz, son of Esau, and the mother of Amalek.

Timna was the daughter of Seir the Horite and the concubine of Eliphaz, Esau's son, by whom she became the mother of Amalek (Genesis 36:12; 1 Chronicles 1:36). She is also listed as a Horite chieftainess in the catalogue of Seir's descendants (Genesis 36:22; 1 Chronicles 1:39). The Amalekites, descended from Timna through Amalek, became one of Israel's most persistent enemies throughout the period of the judges and the early monarchy.
