Old Testament

Zebidah, daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah, was the mother of Jehoiakim, king of Judah.

Zebidah, daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah, was the mother of King Jehoiakim (originally named Eliakim), who reigned over Judah from 609 to 598 BC (2 Kings 23:36). She was the wife of King Josiah and bore Jehoiakim, who was placed on the throne by Pharaoh Necho II after Josiah's death at Megiddo. As queen mother, Zebidah's lineage is duly recorded in the regnal formula in Kings, following the standard Deuteronomistic pattern of noting each king's mother.
