Ziph

Ziph was a son of Jehallelel, a descendant of the tribe of Judah, listed in the genealogy of 1 Chronicles 4:16 alongside his brothers Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel. The name is shared with the Judean town of Ziph in the hill country, famous as the place where the Ziphites betrayed David's hiding place to Saul (1 Samuel 23:19; 26:1; Psalm 54 superscript). This individual Ziph appears only in the genealogical notice.
