Besodeiah was the father of Meshullam, who repaired the Old Gate of Jerusalem.
Besodeiah was the father of Meshullam, who repaired the Old Gate of Jerusalem during Nehemiah's reconstruction project (Nehemiah 3:6). Meshullam son of Besodeiah worked alongside Joiada son of Paseah to restore this section of the city wall. Like many figures in Nehemiah 3, Besodeiah is known solely through his son's contribution to the great communal effort to restore Jerusalem's defenses.
