Clement was a fellow laborer with Paul, whose name was in the Book of Life.
Clement was a fellow worker of the apostle Paul mentioned in Philippians 4:3, where Paul asks his 'true companion' to help Euodia and Syntyche reconcile, and speaks warmly of those who 'labored side by side with me in the gospel, together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.' Nothing more is said of him in the New Testament. Early church tradition sometimes identified this Clement with Clement of Rome, the early bishop and author of 1 Clement, though this identification remains uncertain.
