Crescens, a companion of Paul, went to Galatia during Paul's imprisonment.
Crescens was a companion of the apostle Paul who, at the time Paul wrote his second letter to Timothy from prison in Rome, had gone to Galatia (2 Timothy 4:10). Paul notes his departure alongside that of Demas and Titus, suggesting Crescens was engaged in active missionary work rather than abandoning the apostolic mission. Early church tradition in some Western sources associates Crescens with founding the church in Gaul (France), though this cannot be verified from the New Testament.
