Darkon was the ancestor of a family of temple servants who returned from the Babylonian exile.
Darkon was the ancestor of a family of Nethinim—temple servants—who returned from Babylonian captivity with Zerubbabel's company (Ezra 2:56; Nehemiah 7:58). The Nethinim were a dedicated class within the post-exilic community who performed supporting roles in the temple service alongside the Levites. Darkon's descendants represent the continuity of this servant class from the pre-exilic to the post-exilic temple establishment.
