The Girzites were a people group David raided during his time living in Philistine territory.
The Girzites (also rendered Gezrites) were a people listed in 1 Samuel 27:8 among the tribal groups that David raided from his base at Ziklag, alongside the Geshurites and the Amalekites. They are otherwise unknown in the biblical record, and their territory is described as extending toward Shur in the direction of Egypt. Their mention in the context of David's guerrilla activities places them among the semi-nomadic peoples of the Negev and Sinai frontier.
