Old Testament

Hatipha was an ancestor of temple servants who returned to Jerusalem from Babylonian exile.

Hatipha was the ancestor of a family of Nethinim who returned from Babylonian exile under Zerubbabel, listed in Ezra 2:54 and Nehemiah 7:56. As a family of dedicated temple servants, Hatipha's descendants formed part of the restored service community that supported the Levitical worship in the Second Temple. Their return to the land represents the broader restoration of all the various orders of temple personnel that made regular worship possible.
