Jaakobah was a leader from the tribe of Simeon during the reign of King Hezekiah.
Jaakobah was a leader from the tribe of Simeon who is listed among the princes of the Simeonite families during the reign of King Hezekiah (1 Chronicles 4:36). He participated in the expansion of Simeonite territory into the valley of Gedor, where the clan found excellent pastureland and drove out the Hamites who had settled there (1 Chronicles 4:38–41). His name, which echoes the patriarch Jacob's name (Ya'aqob), reflects the onomastic traditions of the tribe of Simeon in the late monarchic period.
