Jemimah was the first of three daughters born to Job after God restored his fortunes, as recorded in the book of Job.
Jemimah was the first of three daughters born to Job after God restored his fortunes following his severe testing (Job 42:14). Her name means 'dove' or 'day' in Hebrew. The three daughters—Jemimah, Keziah, and Keren-happuch—are noted as the most beautiful women in all the land, and Job gave them an inheritance among their brothers, an unusual provision reflecting the depth of restoration and blessing Job experienced. The naming of the daughters in Job 42 is theologically significant as a sign of renewed life and joy after suffering.
