Maadai was one of the Israelites who had married a foreign woman during the exile and pledged to divorce her in accordance with Ezra's reform (Ezra 10:34). He is listed among the sons of Bani who had taken foreign wives, in the detailed register of those who participated in the covenant of separation from foreign marriages. Beyond this single administrative entry, no further biographical detail is preserved.
