New Testament

Fortunatus was a Corinthian Christian who, along with Stephanas and Achaicus, visited Paul in Ephesus and refreshed his spirit.

Fortunatus was a member of the household of Stephanas from Corinth who, together with Achaicus, visited Paul in Ephesus and brought news of the Corinthian church (1 Corinthians 16:17). Paul notes that this group 'made up for what was lacking' in the Corinthians' presence, suggesting they brought encouragement and perhaps material support during Paul's extended Ephesian ministry. He and his companions are among the earliest named laypeople in the Corinthian church.
