Evangelists
Those gifted and called to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. Ephesians 4:11 lists evangelists among Christ's gifts to the church alongside apostles, prophets, pastors, and teachers. Philip is called 'the evangelist' (Acts 21:8) and modeled the role through his ministry in Samaria (Acts 8:4-8) and to the Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8:26-40). Paul urged Timothy to 'do the work of an evangelist' (2 Timothy 4:5). While all Christians are called to share their faith (1 Peter 3:15), evangelists possess a particular gifting and passion for proclaiming the good news to those who have not heard.
