Four Horsemen

The four riders released by the opening of the first four seals in Revelation 6:1-8. The white horse represents conquest (or some interpret, false religion). The red horse signifies war and bloodshed. The black horse symbolizes famine and economic hardship. The pale horse represents death and plague. Together they depict the escalating judgments that precede Christ's return. Their imagery draws from Zechariah 1:8-17 and 6:1-8.
