The Puthites were a clan from the tribe of Judah.
The Puthites were one of four clans descending from Shobal son of Caleb, a Judahite, listed in the genealogy of 1 Chronicles 2:53 alongside the Ithrites, Mishraites, and Shumathites. These four families are said to have produced the Zorathites and Eshtaolites, placing the Puthites in the territory of the Shephelah on the border between Judah and Dan. The precise geographic or ethnic referent of the designation is unknown.
