Sittengesetz

The permanent ethical principles embedded in God's character and expressed in Scripture, distinct from ceremonial and civil regulations. The Ten Commandments form the core of the moral law (Exodus 20:1-17). Jesus summarized moral law in the two great commandments: love God supremely and love neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37-40). Paul affirmed that the moral law still applies: 'The commandments, "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder,"... are summed up in this one command: Love your neighbor as yourself' (Romans 13:9). The moral law reflects God's unchanging nature and applies across all cultures and eras.
