Wildnis

Untamed, uninhabited regions where God shapes and tests his people. Israel's wilderness period (Exodus-Deuteronomy) was formative — God provided manna, water, and guidance, teaching them to depend entirely on him. Deuteronomy 8:2 explains: God led them 'to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart.' David hid in the wilderness from Saul (1 Samuel 23-26). Jesus began his ministry in the wilderness (Mark 1:12-13). Isaiah 40:3 prophesied a voice crying in the wilderness to prepare the Lord's way. The wilderness represents both danger and sacred encounter — a place of vulnerability where God's provision becomes most tangible.
