The conclusion of Job's 'Hymn to Wisdom' — 'the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding' — provides a relational rather than intellectual definition of the wisdom that neither Job nor his friends can locate in the cosmos (verses 12-27). The poem's structure first establishes that wisdom is inaccessible to human mining and searching before declaring that God alone knows its place and has disclosed a path to it through the fear of the LORD.
