Juan 14:3
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Jesus' farewell promise — 'I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also' — frames his departure not as abandonment but as the first movement in a reunion. The verse is among the New Testament's clearest expressions of the Parousia as personal reception: Christ himself comes to gather his own to be with him. The 'where I am, there you may be also' formula expresses the Johannine understanding of salvation as union and co-location with Christ rather than mere divine reward. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 ('so we will always be with the Lord') provides the Pauline parallel, and Revelation 21:3 ('God himself will be with them') the eschatological fulfillment.
