Regem-melech was one of the messengers sent to the house of God to inquire of the Lord.
Regem-melech was a representative sent by the people of Bethel to the priests in Jerusalem during the time of Zechariah (Zechariah 7:2), approximately 518 BC. He was commissioned to inquire whether the fasts commemorating Jerusalem's destruction should continue now that the temple was being rebuilt, prompting one of Zechariah's significant oracles about true fasting and justice.
