Brief expressions of praise that punctuate and conclude biblical texts, marking transitions and affirming God's glory. Psalm 41:13 closes Book I of the Psalter with 'Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and Amen.' Similar doxologies close Books II-V (72:18-19, 89:52, 106:48, 150). Romans 11:36 concludes Paul's theological argument with 'For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever!' Ephesians 3:20-21 and Jude 24-25 are elaborate doxologies. These formulaic praises remind readers that all theology should issue in worship — knowledge of God leading to adoration of God.
