'Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name' — Ezekiel's Gog-Magog oracle concludes with restoration as its telos: the apocalyptic battle does not end in mere destruction but in the ingathering of dispersed Israel and the renewed recognition of God's holiness. The divine 'jealousy for my name' (qanna' l'shemi haqqadosh) returns to the motivation stated in 36:21–23: the whole sweep of judgment and restoration is governed by God's concern for the integrity of his own character. The passage anticipates Romans 11:26 ('and so all Israel shall be saved') as a New Testament application of this restoration promise.
