Haggedolim

Old Testament

Haggedolim was a priest during the time of Nehemiah, mentioned in the list of priests and Levites.

Haggedolim was the father of Zabdiel, who served as the overseer of 128 warriors of the priestly families who settled in Jerusalem after the return from exile, mentioned in Nehemiah 11:14. The name Haggedolim means 'the great ones' and may function as a title or honorific describing the family's status. His son Zabdiel's administrative role reflects the careful organization of the post-exilic Jerusalemite community under Nehemiah's leadership.
