Shishak was an Egyptian Pharaoh who invaded Judah during the reign of King Rehoboam and captured fortified cities.
Shishak (Sheshonq I) was the Egyptian pharaoh who invaded Judah in the fifth year of Rehoboam's reign, plundering Jerusalem and stripping the temple and palace of the golden treasures accumulated by Solomon (1 Kings 14:25–28; 2 Chronicles 12:2–9). His campaign is corroborated by Egyptian records at Karnak listing the cities he conquered in Canaan. He had earlier sheltered Jeroboam when Solomon sought to kill him (1 Kings 11:40), and his invasion marked the beginning of the long decline in Judah's material wealth from its Solomonic peak.
