Goodness
Moral excellence and generosity of character that flows from God's nature. Psalm 107:1 proclaims, 'Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.' Galatians 5:22 lists goodness as a fruit of the Spirit. Romans 15:14 describes believers 'full of goodness, filled with knowledge.' Ephesians 5:9 states, 'The fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth.' Jesus declared, 'No one is good — except God alone' (Mark 10:18), establishing God as the standard of all goodness. Psalm 23:6 anticipates, 'Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life.'
