Servants
A central biblical role modeled supremely by Jesus himself. Isaiah's Servant Songs (Isaiah 42, 49, 50, 52-53) prophesied a suffering servant who would bear the sins of many. Jesus declared, 'The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many' (Mark 10:45). He washed his disciples' feet (John 13:1-17) and called them to follow his example. Paul repeatedly identified himself as a 'servant of Christ Jesus' (Romans 1:1). The paradox of Christian leadership is that true greatness comes through humble service (Matthew 20:26-28).
