Abda was the father of Adoram (or 'Adoniram'), who was in charge of forced labor during Solomon's reign.

Abda was the father of Adoram (also called Adoniram), the official placed in charge of forced labor under King Solomon (1 Kings 4:6). His son held one of the most demanding administrative positions in the united monarchy, overseeing the corvée labor force that built the temple, the palace, and other major royal projects. Abda himself is known only through this paternal relationship; his tribal affiliation and dates are not specified in the text.
