Kenizzites

The Kenizzites were one of the ten nations inhabiting the land promised to Abraham's descendants in the covenant of Genesis 15:19. They are generally associated with the Edomite clan of Kenaz (Genesis 36:11, 15), whose descendants—called 'the Kenizzite' in Numbers 32:12—became integrated into the tribe of Judah through Caleb son of Jephunneh. The Kenizzites thus represent a pre-Israelite population whose assimilation into Israel is a notable feature of early Judahite tribal history.
