Lamentations 3:26 counsels, 'It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.' Jesus often withdrew in silence (Luke 5:16). Before Pilate, he 'gave no answer' (Mark 15:5). Silence is not passivity but an active posture of receptivity, trust, and surrender to God.
