Argob, along with Arieh, was with King Pekahiah when Pekah conspired against him and assassinated him.
Argob was a man mentioned in 2 Kings 15:25 as being with King Pekahiah of Israel when Pekah son of Remaliah conspired against the king and assassinated him in the citadel of Samaria. The verse is textually uncertain; some interpreters read Argob and Arieh as the names of two men killed along with the king, while others understand them as referring to locations or as names of the assassins who sided with Pekah. The assassination of Pekahiah marked one of the frequent violent transitions of power in the northern kingdom during the chaotic final decades before the Assyrian conquest.
