Bedeiah was one of the Israelites who had married foreign women during the exile and agreed to send them away.
Bedeiah was one of the Israelites from the family of Bani who had married a foreign woman during the exile and agreed to send her away in response to Ezra's call for covenant faithfulness (Ezra 10:35). His compliance with Ezra's difficult reform illustrates the painful personal cost of the community's effort to preserve its covenantal distinctiveness after returning to the land from Babylon.
