Yohanes 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Study Note
The Prologue of John's Gospel opens with a deliberate echo of Genesis 1:1 — 'in the beginning was the Word (Logos)' — framing the Gospel as a new creation narrative. The Greek term 'Logos' carried philosophical freight: in Stoicism it was the rational principle ordering the cosmos; in Hellenistic Judaism (Philo) it mediated between God and the world. The three declarations — the Word was with God, and the Word was God — have been central to Trinitarian doctrine: both distinct from God ('with God') and fully divine ('was God'). John's identification of the Logos as becoming flesh (verse 14) was a radical move that distinguished Christian theology from both Jewish and Greek philosophical traditions.
