Elizur

Exodus & Wilderness Tribe of Reuben · H0468
Old Testament

Elizur, son of Shedeur, was a leader from the tribe of Reuben during the wilderness journey.

Elizur son of Shedeur was the appointed leader of the tribe of Reuben during the wilderness period, first mentioned in Numbers 1:5 when Moses conducted the first census of Israel. He represented Reuben in multiple official capacities, including the tribal census, the presentation of offerings at the dedication of the altar (Numbers 7:30–35), and the ordering of the camp and march. His leadership reflects the administrative structure Moses established for governing the tribes of Israel during the Exodus.
