Zorathites

The Zorathites were a Judahite clan descended from Shobal, listed among the families of Kiriath-jearim in 1 Chronicles 2:53. They are associated with the area of Zorah in the Shephelah, the hometown of Samson (Judges 13:2) and a location connected to the Danite migration northward (Judges 18:2). In 1 Chronicles 4:2 the Zorathites appear again as descendants of Reaiah son of Shobal, confirming their identity as a Judahite clan of the Shephelah region.
