Perumpamaan

Short stories drawn from everyday life that Jesus used to teach spiritual truths about the kingdom of God. Matthew 13:34 notes, 'Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables.' The parables include the sower (Matthew 13), the prodigal son (Luke 15), the good Samaritan (Luke 10), the lost sheep (Luke 15), the talents (Matthew 25), and many more. Jesus explained that parables simultaneously reveal truth to the receptive and conceal it from the resistant (Matthew 13:10-17). Each parable has a central point, usually surprising or subversive, that challenges conventional thinking. Parables demand a response — not just understanding but decision and action.
