ネコダ

Old Testament

The descendants of Nekoda were among the temple servants who returned to Jerusalem from Babylonian captivity.

Nekoda was the ancestor of a family of temple servants (nethinim) whose descendants returned to Judah from the Babylonian exile under Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:48; Nehemiah 7:50). A separate group bearing the same name is listed among those who could not prove their Israelite descent when the registers were checked (Ezra 2:60; Nehemiah 7:62). The temple servants performed menial labor in the sanctuary and were a recognized class in the post-exilic restoration community.
