Tertullus was a lawyer hired by the Jewish authorities to accuse Paul before the Roman governor Felix.

Tertullus was a professional orator (rhetor) hired by the Jewish high priest Ananias and the elders to present their case against Paul before the Roman governor Felix at Caesarea (Acts 24:1–9). His speech employed the standard conventions of Roman forensic rhetoric, opening with a captatio benevolentiae praising Felix and then charging Paul with being a 'troublemaker,' a 'ringleader of the Nazarene sect,' and a desecrator of the temple. Paul refuted each charge in the reply that followed, and Felix deferred judgment.
