Jeremiah 33:11
The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the Lord of hosts: for the Lord is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the Lord.

Study Note
The promise that the voices of joy and gladness, of bride and bridegroom, and of those bringing thank offerings to the Temple will again be heard in Judah and Jerusalem reverses the silence prophesied in 7:34 and 16:9. The refrain 'Give thanks to the LORD of hosts, for the LORD is good, for his steadfast love endures forever' (the Hallel response of Psalms 118:1) appears here as the content of restored worship, embedding the vision of return in Israel's liturgical tradition. The verse belongs to the 'Book of Consolation' (Jeremiah 30–33), Jeremiah's most extended oracle of hope, proclaimed during the Babylonian siege when the land's desolation seemed irreversible. The explicit promise of restored Levitical worship (verses 17–22) alongside the joy of ordinary life signals that restoration is both cultic and quotidian.
