Old Testament

Purah was Gideon's servant who went with him to spy on the Midianite camp.

Purah was the personal servant of Gideon who accompanied him on his nocturnal reconnaissance mission to the Midianite camp before the battle (Judges 7:10–11). God had told Gideon to go down to the camp with his servant if he was afraid, and while there they overheard a Midianite soldier recounting a dream—interpreted as predicting Gideon's victory—that gave Gideon the confidence to lead the attack. Purah's presence provided moral support to the hesitant Gideon at a critical moment.
