The final words of Matthew's Gospel — 'I am with you always, to the very end of the age' — close with a divine presence promise that bookends the Gospel (compare 1:23: 'Immanuel, God with us'). The Greek 'pases tas hemeras' (all the days) is more specific than 'always,' suggesting consistent, daily accompaniment rather than a general principle. 'To the end of the age' anchors the promise eschatologically: it will not be revoked before the completion of God's purposes. The verse functions as the foundation for Christian mission theology: the one who commands the mission also promises the presence necessary to sustain it.
