John 14:19
Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

Study Note
'Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also' — Jesus's promise bridges his imminent departure, the post-resurrection appearances, and the ongoing spiritual perception of believers. The causal 'because I live' makes the disciples' life derivative from and dependent upon Christ's own resurrection life — the same argument Paul will develop in 1 Corinthians 15:22 and Romans 6:5. The verse anticipates John 20:19's 'the disciples were gathered for fear,' where the risen Jesus appears and the promise begins its fulfillment, and has been central to Christian mysticism's theme of life hidden in Christ (Colossians 3:3).
