Meditation
The practice of deeply reflecting on God's Word, character, and works. Biblical meditation differs from Eastern meditation — rather than emptying the mind, it fills the mind with Scripture. Psalm 1:2 describes the blessed person who 'meditates on his law day and night.' Joshua 1:8 commands, 'Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night.' Psalm 119:97 exclaims, 'Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.' Psalm 77:12 says, 'I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.' Meditation deepens understanding, strengthens faith, and transforms character.
