Seas
Large bodies of water that in biblical symbolism often represent chaos, danger, and the realm of evil. God divided the Red Sea to deliver Israel (Exodus 14), demonstrating mastery over the waters. Psalm 107:23-30 describes God calming stormy seas. Jonah was swallowed by a great fish in the sea (Jonah 1:17). Jesus walked on water (Matthew 14:25) and calmed the storm (Mark 4:39), displaying divine authority. Daniel 7 portrays beasts rising from the sea. Significantly, Revelation 21:1 notes that in the new creation 'there was no longer any sea' — the chaotic threat permanently eliminated. Yet God originally created the seas as good (Genesis 1:10).
