Послание Иуды 1:21
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Study Note
The exhortation 'keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life' contains two distinct orientations: the present maintenance of divine love (keeping within it, not falling out) and the future orientation toward eschatological mercy. The phrase 'keep yourselves' (tērēsate) places genuine responsibility on believers for their own spiritual maintenance, while 'in the love of God' locates the space within which this maintenance occurs — not achievement of love but residence within it. The verse belongs to the 'beloved' address of Jude 17-23, which gives a four-fold description of faithful Christian existence (building up faith, praying in the Spirit, keeping in love, looking for mercy). The verse has been important in discussions of the relationship between divine sovereignty (preserving grace) and human responsibility in salvation.
