Ahiam, son of Sharar the Hararite, was one of David's mighty men.
Ahiam son of Sharar the Hararite—called Ahiam son of Sacar the Hararite in the parallel 1 Chronicles 11:35—was one of David's elite thirty mighty men (2 Samuel 23:33). His designation as a 'Hararite' links him to several other warriors of that designation in David's company, suggesting either a geographic origin or a clan identity. The thirty formed the second tier of David's special forces, below the legendary three, and their collective deeds secured the military reputation of the early Israelite monarchy. The variant between 'Sharar' and 'Sacar' is a minor textual difference in transmission.
